What you should know about BOTOX

There are four commercially available brands of Botulinum Toxin or Botox used in the US today: Botox®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and Jeuveau®. They all are purified proteins synthesized in the laboratory that function as muscle relaxants and none of them can cause botulism.

All four products have the same potency and duration of action when prepared in similar ways. The only difference is the price per unit because newer products such as Xeomin® and Jeuveau® are typically cheaper as they are trying to enter a market that has been dominated by Botox® and Dysport® for decades.
