EYELID SURGERY

Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Lift corrects droopy or saggy upper eyelids and puffy bags above and under the eyes. It does not change the shape of your eyes but simply makes you look younger, less tired and refreshed. Surgery can involve only the upper eyelids, only the lower eyelids, all four eyelids or the eyelids and the brows. It can be done under local or general anesthesia depending on patient preference. The procedure takes between 30 and 75 minutes. Bruising typically goes away in less than 3 weeks, although full recovery can take up to 6 months.

It is very important not to take any anti-inflammatory medication (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Diclofenac, Indomethacin), vitamins and supplements for 2 weeks prior to surgery in order to decrease the risk of bleeding and the amount of postoperative bruising.
